November 1856: Advised customers to collect repairs because he was departing Launceston.

December 1856: An unreserved sale was advertised to sell shop fittings, business stock, household furniture, and other effects at the Wellington Street premises.
Approx. 1859: Back in Launceston, Wellington Street.

September 1862: Watchmaker Joseph Cockroft of Charles Street sold his stock to Mr Swan of Wellington Street before leaving for New Zealand.

November 1863: Mr Swan of Elizabeth Street advertised he would be leaving the colony and held an auction to sell stock, including an English regulator, English 8-day rosewood and mahogany timepieces, French and American timepieces, gold and silver watches, jewellery, watch parts and shop fittings. Customers were advised that all repairs not paid for would be left with Mr Abbott of Brisbane Street.

The Swan’s moved to Melbourne, Victoria, where Thomas worked as a watchmaker in St Kilda.
