June 1895: Arthur’s business was referred to in the Zeehan and Dundas Herald as the oldest jewellery establishment in Zeehan and Arthur as a pioneer jeweller. Arthur advertised he had reviewed his prices ‘that ought to bring joy to the hearts of many.’

September 1895: Sale and closure of business on 5 October 1895 advised.
Late 1895: The business was sold to watchmaker Samuel Armstrong.

Zeehan and Dundas Herald 14 July 1905:
‘After years of silence, through Mr W Teniswood, we hear that an old Zeehanite (Mr Arthur Singleton) is now in Nottingham, England, and although retired from business is doing well. Mr Singleton left Zeehan 10 years ago for the Old Country, where he married and is now the happy father of two daughters. All old Coast friends will wish him continued health and prosperity.’
