The marriage was solemnised later in Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the United States.

1894: Arthur signed and dated a clock back plate, a custom for a repairer. ‘C Long & Co, Bathurst Street, Hobart’ is stamped on the rear plate (see photo). The signature on the clock back plate indicates he undertook clock repairing.
1891-1913: Recorded as a jeweller in Hobart.

Early 1900s: Shareholder, Chairman of Directors, and Legal Manager of the Copper Creek Mining Company;
Member of the Loyal Jubilee Lodge No. 16.

Approx. May 1913: Departed Tasmania bound for California, United States.
19 June 1913: Arrived in California.

Arthur continued his work as a manufacturing jeweller in Salt Lake City, Utah. The 1940 Census indicates he was a naturalised citizen of the United States, worked 40 hours a week and 52 weeks of the year in 1939, and was self-employed. His highest level of education was 7th grade elementary school.
