April 1921: Robert returned to Devonport to work with his father after completing three years of training with a Melbourne engraver. November 1926: Purchased watchmaking and jewellery business in Donald, Victoria, from Mr R N Wadsworth. 12 May 1942: Enlisted for military service, recorded as a 40-year-old watchmaker and jeweller with qualifications in precision instrument making. Following the death of his wife in 1946 and his mother in 1947, Robert sold the Donald watchmaking and jewellery business in November 1947 to Mr Phil Howard and moved back to Devonport. 1950s-1960s: Jeweller, 7 Payne Avenue, Devonport (electoral rolls). May 1952: Death of father, Edgar Keen. |
