Other | From approx. 1912: Employer, Olaf (Oliver) Nielson. Eric sometimes undertook maintenance of the Hobart Post Office clock. 1936: Olga Nielson advertised after her father’s death, advising customers that Mr E L Hargraves, who had worked for her father for 25 years, was now in charge of the repair department. The Hargraves home at 26 Parliament Street, Sandy Bay, housed a variety of chiming clocks which were wound and set every Sunday morning from Eric’s pocket watch, kept in time from the pips of the 7 o’clock ABC radio news.
